Biography: Nicholas J. Gutknecht

Nicholas Gutknecht works primarily with general contractors and subcontractors in the areas of construction law and business/corporate law including corporate governance and business entity formation. Nick’s extensive background in the construction industry began as a laborer in heavy civil construction and has brought him to his current position as an attorney managing multi-million dollar construction projects. This experience has enabled him to share the unique perspective of the clients he works with that are seeking practical solutions in the industry today.

Nick brings a creative thought process to each of the issues that his clients face. He approaches each matter from multiple viewpoints to find a timely and cost-efficient solution that will optimize business practices for his clients. Most clients wish to avoid litigation, and Nick works with them prior to issues arising to provide effective contract negotiation and drafting.

Construction is an industry that provides its own unique challenges. Nick’s clients value the added security they receive knowing that they have hired an attorney that not only understands the law but the construction industry as a whole.

Nick is licensed to practice in Minnesota state courts.

Nick graduated cum laude from Mitchell Hamline School of Law, and received his undergraduate degree in Philosophy from the University of St. Thomas.
