Mick Spence quoted in Star Tribune article regarding Prince collaborator’s attempt to sell songwriting credit on eBay
Hellmuth & Johnson business and entertainment attorney Mick Spence was quoted in a Star Tribune story about a songwriting credit being auctioned on eBay.
The action was notable both for the method of sale and the other co-writer – Prince. "Soft and Wet" was used by Warner Bros. Records as the first single off Prince's 1978 debut album, "For You."
"That's a first," Spence was quoted about putting the songwriting credit up for auction on eBay.
"Just like you would check on a title before buying a house, you would want to check the paper trail on this and make sure everything is clean," said Spence. "But based on what he's advertising, it looks like [Moon's] rights are still in good standing."
