Hellmuth & Johnson welcomes Blaine L. Balow and Frederik W. Struve
Hellmuth & Johnson is pleased to announce that Blaine L. Balow and Frederik W. Struve have recently passed the bar exam and are now associates at the firm.
Blaine is a member of the Family Law group at Hellmuth & Johnson, where he represents his clients in a wide variety of matters including, marital dissolution, marital and cohabitation agreements, child custody and support proceedings, orders for protection and domestic violence, stepparent adoption, and alternative dispute resolution (ADR). While in law school, Blaine represented the City of West Allis and the State of Wisconsin in Washington County. Between these two positions, he conducted an evidentiary hearing, prosecuted over 80 bench trials and two jury trials. He also negotiated case resolution with attorneys and unrepresented individuals on a weekly basis in municipal and district court.
Blaine draws from his litigation experience and support of ADR to effectively advocate for his clients and their children in the courtroom and during negotiations. He makes it his priority to be consistently available to his clients, to answer their questions, and to explain the law in plain English. Blaine recognizes the importance of assisting his clients to navigate their way through an emotionally charged process while reaching an agreeable resolution that will foster a positive transition into the next chapter of life.
Frederik is a member of the Information Technology & E-Commerce and Intellectual Property practice groups at Hellmuth & Johnson where he focuses his practice on licensing and technology contracts, representing established and start-up technology companies, as well as large and mid-sized highly regulated entities in the healthcare and insurance industries.
Fred is an author of legal scholarship on intellectual property with published articles in the William Mitchell Law Review and ABA Landslide.
