Shari Jacobus is a senior associate with the firm and a member of the firm’s Litigation Practice Group, Construction Defect Practice Group and Construction Law Group. Shari primarily represents homeowners, construction contractors, construction subcontractors and material suppliers with myriad construction law issues and disputes.
Shari concentrates her practice in the following areas:
- Construction law and litigation
- Mechanic's liens
- Construction defect litigation
- Business litigation
Prior to joining the firm, Shari was a municipal prosecutor. In her nine-years as a prosecutor, Shari was responsible for litigating in excess of 15,000 cases for the cities she represented. Shari’s extensive litigation experience allows her to provide her clients with the aggressive and knowledgeable representation they require and deserve. Shari is committed to providing accessible, effective, and reasonably priced legal services to her clients. Shari accomplishes this commitment by listening to her client’s concerns and needs, promptly returning phone calls and emails, and carefully navigating through and explaining the legal process to help minimize the stress and anxiety normally associated with litigation.
In addition to her law practice, Shari serves in other areas of the community and has been honored numerous times over the years:
- Shari serves on the Board of Kinderhaus Montessori in Shoreview, Minnesota.
- In 2005, 2007, 2008, and 2009, Shari was honored by Minnesota Law & Politics magazine as a “Rising Star®” in the legal community.
- Shari regularly volunteers at her children’s schools and at her parish and other organizations.
Shari obtained her J.D. cum laude from William Mitchell College of Law and graduated with honors from the University of Wisconsin-River Falls with a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology and Sociology.
Shari is licensed to practice law in district court in the states of Minnesota and Wisconsin. Shari is also licensed to practice law in the Minnesota Federal Courts. Shari is a member of the Ramsey County, Hennepin County and Minnesota Bar Associations. Shari is also an approved continuing education coordinator for the Minnesota Department of Labor and Industry and regular organizes and presents courses on a variety of residential contractor topics.
