Joel brings his unique expertise to structuring commercial and residential real estate transactions, landlord/tenant issues, quieting title defects, creditor’s rights, bankruptcy issues, and navigating real estate disputes over contracts, boundaries, ownership, easements, and other real property interests.

A member of the Board of Directors of the Community Association Institute of Minnesota, he has extensive experience representing community associations in all of their legal needs.  Hellmuth & Johnson, PLLC, currently represents hundreds of condominium, townhome, and cooperative associations throughout the State of Minnesota.

Joel is a frequent presenter on real estate topics ranging from leasing to foreclosures.  In addition to Continuing Legal Education programs, he has presented for the Minnesota Multihousing Association (MHA) and numerous real estate organizations.  He is also a frequent contributor to industry publications and The Authority on Community Association Law.  In 2008, Joel was named to the Rising Star© list by Minnesota Law & Politics magazine, represented among the top 2.5% of young attorneys in the state.

Joel is licensed to practice law in the state and federal courts in Minnesota, and is a member of the Real Property Sections of both the Hennepin County Bar Association and Minnesota State Bar Associations. He received his law degree from the University of Minnesota Law School, and completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Illinois, Urbana.
